Jim Trent, Director of the PBBA Counseling Ministry
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, License # MH 1400
Jim Trent has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1985. He is also a
Certified Family Mediator and a former pastor. He has done extensive work with
adolescent behavioral issues, marital conflict and individual depression. Jim believes that
an integration of Biblical principles into the counseling process provides a solid foundation
for growth and healing.
In early 2005, Jim resigned from his position with the University of West Florida that he
held for nearly 25 years. He wanted to pursue his passion for counseling on a full time
basis. Jim would admit that his path in life has not always been smooth, but believes that
the situations that he has experienced will provide a shared foundation for those
experiencing similar difficulties.

Lynette’s life verse is Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”.
She received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University .
Her lifelong dream has been to provide counseling and she is grateful to not only achieve
that dream but to be able to share God’s love while doing so. Lynette previously worked in
child welfare and was often called to speak about the child welfare system. She has a gift
for public speaking and enjoys sharing it with others.
Lynette has overcome many personal trials in her life and feels that God’s desire is for her
to utilize those trials in ministry to others. She has a heart for children and is very active in
the Children’s Ministry at her home church, Olive Baptist. Lynette has been blessed with a
husband and four beautiful children. With three teenage boys and a pre-teen girl at

Virginia Walker Walls
Registered Mental Health Intern # IMH7785
Virginia Walls has received her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of West
Florida. Some of her professional and personal interests include depression, anxiety,
fear, multicultural issues, spiritual growth, and healthy relationships. In her practice, she
believes that a holistic approach (e.g., physical, spiritual, emotional, and relational) to
counseling often provides a firm foundation for recovery.
This counselor has a passion for helping people survive the storms of life and transform
their storms into God’s meaning and purpose for their lives. In other words, Virginia firmly
believes “that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love the Lord,
to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
